Two tunes, WILD MOUNTAIN THYME and VENI CREATOR SPIRITUS, are intertwined very creatively, combining ancient and modern in a welcoming theme. Latin and English texts and solo voice and choir are also combined, and the assembly sings throughout in response to "Spirit, open my heart." The piece should neither drag nor rush, yet the final refrain with assembly should move forward until the chant tone returns for the last time.
