The melodies in this medley come from early American sources. The opening fife tune was found in a Revolutionary War collection. Our Native Land appeared in a school music book from 1871. The Appalachian tune can be found in many shape-note hymnals, and the march Washington Crossing the Delaware is from the late 18th century. A wonderful and accessible concert closer!
