Sometimes associated with Advent or Christmas, the lyrics are typically associated with the Gregorian chant: "Divinum Mysterium" - a style of singing that is difficult for many congregations, even when updated to modern notation in hymnals. This anthem re-presents the timeless lyrics with steady meter, regular phrases full of step-wise melodic motion,aawith plenty of unison and light choral harmony. It functions both as a piece suitable for amateur choirs, as well as having enough challenges to engage a more advanced choir.
