This was written right before Halloween, a time when most folks are thinking about candy for "Trick or Treaters."  However, the real meaning of the holiday comes from the Celtic celebration of the turning of the year from summer to winter, when the "veil between the worlds is thinnest and the living communicate with their beloved dead."
