This is an imaginative a cappella setting of a sequence of nine poems by Judith Jesch. The war poems are formal and celebratory, making vivid use of figures of speech known as "kennings," while the love poems are more direct and sometimes playful. Each movement has its own independence, but there is a continuity to the work as a whole.
