This late intermediate piece is great for recitals.  It gives the student a chance to show off their expressive side, while giving them a good technical workout.  Although it is slow and poetic, the syncopated rhythms and grace notes will give your students a challenge.  It has typical Copland characteristics, 20th century harmonies mixed with rich chords and a beautiful melody.  This short piece will surely become a favorite.
