This beautifully written setting of one of the best known poems from World War I makes good use of mixed meter, long phrases, and lovely harmonic moments to create a poignant selection for remembrance of veterans. This is an excellent teaching piece with cross-curricular opportunities to history. Add the optional cello obbligato to feature one of your string players.
