And So I Sing
This poignant setting of a powerful text by James Weldon Johnson, African-American poet and national organizer for the NAACP, reflects on the reasons we sing. Opening with an optional violin solo and enhanced by a flowing piano part, the piece begins as a slow, pulsing ballad in minor which transitions to a major key, upbeat ending.
