Requiem, Op. 66
Popper served as the principal cellist of the Vienna Opera Orchestra and worked closely with major composers Brahms, Wagner, and Liszt. He wrote his Requiem for three cellos and orchestra in 1891, and dedicated the publication to the memory of his good friend, the Leipzig publisher Daniel Rahter.
