Irish Tune from County Derry is a setting of the now-famous tune known as Londonderry Air. This ancient folk tune was found by Grainger in the 1855 publication The Petrie Collection of the Ancient Music of Ireland and made famous by Grainger's 1918 arrangement, long before the lyrics Danny Boy were written for the tune. The beautiful and intricate part-writing is preserved in this string orchestra setting.
