Crystals
This is a one-movement tone poem, divided into four parts, each devoted to a different type of crystal. Dark Ice suggests the mystery and majesty of glaciers and icebergs; Underwater Rubies suggests beams of sunlight on sunken treasure; Cyanide is appropriately violent and percussive; Monolith is devoted to images of stone structures, such as Stonehenge or Big Ben's tower. A uniquely conceived and brilliantly executed contemporary work.
