Inspired by the history of the Irish immigrants, this Celtic-flavored piece expresses the feelings experienced in their trek to the new world.  Beginning with the sound of ocean drums in the background, a solo flute plays the main theme.  As the piece develops, the theme changes to represent hardships, the journey to America and the climactic arrival and first glimpse of the Statue of Liberty.  A moving and touching work.
