Carmina Burana
This masterful arrangement of utilizes thirteen of the original twenty-five sections. Based on medieval songs and poems collected by the "goliards," who were vagrant scholars, vagabond poets and wandering monks of the 13th century, the songs "...are frank avowals of the earthly pleasures: eating, drinking, gambling, love-making; the beauty of life and springtime, the irony and cruelty of fortune..." This spirit is vividly portrayed in this exceptionally dramatic work! (Please note: The score is not included with the set of parts, and must be purchased separately.)
