This trio was composed for three 8th grade percussionists.  The piece requires critical dynamic control between the snare drum and tom tom parts as well as technical fluency in snare drum rolling techniques.  It includes an andante section designed for players to explore a lighter, softer, and more delicate playing style than would normally occur in ensembles written for middle school level.
