There is plenty for your percussionists to do in this overture. A lyrical opening sets the mood before the piece rockets forward in a burst of energy.  The percussion section is featured as it alternates with the rest of the band, who clap rhythms in response. The final section adds layer upon layer as the piece builds to its climax.
