These works were specifically chosen to be used as supplemental materials during a student's second year and fourth quarter of study. Works in this series include: Trio No. 6 by Ferdinando Carulli; Two Waltzes by Johann Strauss, which has an extended range to D, first string, tenth fret and fairly simple rhythms using eighth notes; Vals Sereno, a traditional Brazilian composition, which has an extended range to B, first string, seventh fret and simple rhythms in 3/4 meter; Trio No. 11 by Ferdinando Carulli; Study No. 13 by Fernando Sor; Packington’s Pound, an early Renaissance composition, which has an extended range to G, first string, third fret; La Firolera, a traditional Mexican composition, which has an extended range to A, first string, fifth fret and rather simple rhythms; and Country Dance No. 1, Op. 8 by Dionisio Aguado, which has an extended range to D, first string, tenth fret.
